We are on the Count Down to 7 November when the statue of Sir Richard Williams will be dedicated.
Plans are coming together.
We have progress in Queen Square, Moonta where the Council has had built the concrete pad ready for the bench and statue. The rock with the plaque will be placed today and the bench will be placed on Friday. The statue will be attached to the bench on 27 October. all weather permitting. Photos are of the concrete pad being made.
The Rock with story Plaque is in place. There will be concreting around it and the sponsor plaque to be put on the back. Incredible job by the Council Team with Shaun Mercer from Goerecke memorials in placing a natural rock within 1-2 mm of accuracy! And the Council workers actually got dirt on their new crane truck.
The statue of Sir Richard Williams will be dedicated on the 7th of Novmeber 2021.
The bench seat with RAAF logo is now in place, ready for the statue of Sir Richard Wlliams to be put in place.
The concrete has been done around the rock. The sponsor Plaque will be added to the back of the rock and fill and grass around the pad on Monday, Statue Wednesday. All coming together nicely and people passing by are already impressed with the seat (supplied and installed by Goerecke Memorials, Moonta (Great business!!!) with the help of Copper Coast Council staff (dedicated workers!). Allan Halliwell, Moonta RSL President tested out the seat.
